I'm ashamed to say I'm looking for an Amish romance to try. For free obviously. And I've found something even more bizarre: Gay Amish romance. Yes it exists.

It recommends A Forbidden Rumspringa. I didn't know what a Rumspringa was. Apparently it is "a rite of passage during adolescence", and translates into English as "jumping or hopping around".

helrunar, Amish country seems like a theme park. Was the country filled with tourists? Is it how they make a living? Selling to tourists?

Excuse me, my mind is wandering, but I'm wondering, is there an Amish superhero?

I used to use a website called dailyfreebooks.com (also co.uk) which is where I first encountered the topic of "Amish romance". They don't seem to list any AR free right now, but I found some on Am*z*n by sorting the topic by "low to high". Mixed in with "miner romance" & "cowboy romance".

Have you visited Amish places? No, I haven't had the pleasure of visiting that part of the US (yet). There are apparently only about 2k in Canada; I haven't visited any of their particular areas either. I did see a big group of Mennonites (similar but not exactly the same) about 3yrs ago while visiting the CN Tower in Toronto. It seems there are many living about 90min away from Toronto & they came by tour bus. I guess they come to gawk at us & our handiworks too.

Looking at the bios of the authors of this genre, it seems most don't have the first clue about Amish society.

Excuse me, my mind is wandering, but I'm wondering, is there an Amish superhero? There should be...."able to lift heavy roof beams with one hand" "able to thresh wheat & bale hay in the blink of an eye", etc.
Umm, I just found this:
and this, a villain:
Also a comic-book series called "The Nail" from 1988 by Alan Davis, involving an Amish couple & Superman.

Quaker. I can see the power, but it's obviously a religious reference I think. And the two, Quaker and Amish, are separate aren't they? Would he be happy, if he was really Amish, to be called that?

What a strange day. I suppose you could say I've had an Amish day. I've learn't lots about them, on a horror site.

Oops, my bad. So only an Amish villain, no superheros. I wonder if any superhero is happy to be called that? If they're superheros, they're probably modest too, therefore....

A group of Plymouth Brethren used to live not far from me me. helrunar would recognise the name, as Aleister Crowley's parents were members I think.
