I know this is a bit of a long shot on a site given over to the dark pathways of horror and the mysterious but...
Has anyone ever read any Amish romance?

helrunar I'm counting on you. Based on what it says on wikipedia, I think you may be barking up the wrong tree.

That rules out two of the wisest people on here. Who now can I turn to?

Princess, I'm touched! But I'm far from being one of the more knowledgeable people on here when it comes to the more arcane byways of bibliography.
The only thing I can recall about Amish courting customs is reading somewhere that the two people were allowed to lie on a bed together but with a long board between them. Probably apocryphal but the Amish are known to be very handy with woodworking. So who knows.
Also, there was a short lived "reality" (always has to be in quotes, because those things are so heavily scripted, edited and primped) TV series called Amish in the City--I don't know if you do old TV shows, but it might be worth tracking down. If you have an interest in these matters.

Good link, Dr Strange!
I loved this sentence: most Amish novels are as different from Fifty Shades of Grey as a cape dress is from a spiked collar.

OK, having been failed by the three people I thought I could rely on about knowledge of Amish romance literature (helrunar, Dr Strange, and Swampirella), my hopeful eyes turn toward my last chance...
dem bones.
He won't let me down!

Putting the words "Amish" and "romance" together brings a new kind of horror to light. Perhaps Guy N. Smith wrote a novella about an Amish couple being eaten alive by radioactive praying mantises.
Miss Scarlett, those images are so funny. I wonder if those are real TV shows.
cheers, Hel.

Here I sit in my lonely bower (knitting a football bovver boy scarf for helrunar), waiting for a hero to ride to my rescue. There must be one brave man out there who can answer my question. Where are the knights of old?

Maybe someone hears the ghostly sound of a man making a barn during the night.
