Sci-fi is a horrible label. SF or science fiction every time.
Anyway, SF and horror sit nicely side by side. Well, it used to at one time anyway, as any Bradbury or Matheson collection will show.
(Although, saying that, I remember the Simpsons episode where Martin Price wanted there to be a SF library in the school, containing all the works of Heinlein and Asimov etc. "What about Bradbury? he's asked, to which he repiles with a cold "I'm aware of his work")

Same with films like Day Of The Triffids: The Sorcerers: The Deadly Bees, etc. They'll always be horror films to me. >> Now you see to me DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS is absolutely bonofide science fiction. I could go with horror on THE DEADLY BEES - but THE SORCERERS is a blend! I've a feeling the sci-fi you don't dig is the spacey stuff ? Am I on target ? KC

Well, there are exceptions, but I can't say I'm especially fond of space ships and exotic planets with stupid names on the other side of the galaxy, etc.
I bloody hate dinosaurs, too.

Gosh! I didn't expect that much activity to follow that comment! I suppose that in the case of poor unfortunates like Dem, we can understand the incorrect abbreviation being used. As for the rest, I have a simple solution: Love, Rog

I suppose that in the case of poor unfortunates like Dem, we can understand the incorrect abbreviation being used. I can't help it. All this girls joining and people talking about 'submissions' and what have you - I'm all flustered. Right. Sod the lot of you. I'm going to read Slugs again now. *Steve's further amendment is even better *

Yes, these girls have got me confused too. Should we start wearing ties and get some wines and liquors in? - problem is they all seem intelligent and open minded.

I have a simple solution: I have an even simpler solution: I love it! Sorry my gender is confusing and flustering some members (maybe I shouldn't have used that word either? ). Don't you guys get out much and see many women then? (by the way, the smilies on this forum are so cute, I just can't stop using them!)

Eh, Caroline we're horror fans. We only get lt out after midnight ... I'd certainly be wary of exposing myself in direct sunlight. What worries me more though is that it doesn't show up in the mirror...
