I've just completed translations of "Satan's Children"; "De Profundus; and "Androgyne" by Stanislaw Przybyszewski. These are only available at Lulu.com in pocketbook hardcover format. Here is a link to Satan's Children.I fixed the link!

Here is a link to Satan's Children. This looks interesting. Wiki says he was of the "decadent naturalistic school. His drama is associated with the Symbolist movement."

He is also considered one of the founding fathers of modern day Satanism along with Crowley and LaVey. He was one of the two main influences on Hanns Heinz Ewers.

Horrible non-covers on De Profundus and Androgyne.

Horrible non-covers on De Profundus and Androgyne. Chuckle, it is so much easier to gain empowerment by destroying what someone else has created than it is to create something themselves! I taught myself how to type. I taught myself how to translate German and I taught myself how to edit and layout books and I did it all the hard way! And I still have a long way to go as I am still learning . . . My books are not perfect and never will be perfect. . . But I'm putting out good translations of stories that no one else will do! And I am doing it out of love for the authors and the stories! Maybe some day I might even learn how to make good covers? Chuckle. In the meantime enjoy! "De Profundis" means from out of the depths and a water cover seemed appropriate to me. "Androgyne" is really a beautiful story that speaks of how almost impossible it is for one soul to join with its opposite except "during the hour of the miracle". Again I felt this energetic description of opposites appropriate as it is symbolical.

I don't gain empowerment, I just experience it as a loss. If I had known you created this yourself I would not have been that blunt to be polite, but would have the same opinion. Especially considering the beautiful other covers you posted that day earlier. (Or compared with the covers you posted earlier about Przybyszewski.) The contrast couldn't have been stronger.
It is a sad fact that in the last decades the publishing industry has slowly destroyed the art of the cover (at first because they wanted to save money, then because they contort themselves to be as inoffensive, dull and politically correct as possible), and self-publishing didn't help. If I browse Ebooks from unknown writers at Am*z*n, I as a paying customer frankly have come to ignore books with such covers. Regardless if it comes from Big Publisher or Small Publisher.

I appreciate your reply as often simply communicating with another person can really help create good will and even possibly friendships! With horror I just realized that none of my links worked and had to go back and fix them. . . and so goes this ongoing process of self education! By the way, as a self-publisher with my material only on Lulu I reduce the costs to readers by 50% even though that means not having greater publicity and global distribution. This is a choice that I've made deliberately so I depend upon people knowing me and knowing where to find my books and magazines!

Requiem Aeternam is now available as a hard cover and epub from Lulu.com Requiem Aeternam is one of the five books of the Pentateuch by Stanislaw Przybyszewski and shows some of the occult and spiritual thinking of the author. This small book gives his thoughts on the role that sex and sexuality play in both life and death. Przybyszewski was one of two major influences on Hanns Heinz Ewers and Ewers drew on the writings of Przybyszewski in giving his religion of Satan lectures. This is a new English language translation by Joe Bandel.

No, that is not my book or translation. What is happening these days is that AI programs like DeepL are being used to push out low quality translations without even good proof reading! One must be very careful these days on who they get translations from. DeepL is amazing and I use it to assist in the translation process but I then do a line by line comparison to ensure that the translation is valid. DeepL can produce a translation that might be as high as 90-95% correct, but when it makes mistakes it really makes mistakes and always uses the most popular definitions for words. As an example "Rock" is always translated as skirt and google always translates it as coat. It can also mean uniform, jacket, smock and so on. . . I think I've proven my status as translator by now. I am self taught and learned the hard way through sweat, blood and tears. Now things are getting much easier and I'm trying to do more.

That is HORRIFYING that there are now Artificial Idiocy "translations" being peddled of literary works. The old Italian proverb 'traduttore tradittore' has a heightened reality now. My blood runs cold.
I wish you all the best in your endeavors as all cultural production begins to be swamped by the rising tide of inane babble generated by our tin overlords.
cheers, Hel.

It's amazing what is around these days. When I was in Poland last year and my wife wasn't around, I'd use Google translate to take a photo of signs in shop windows and get a decent translation - and of course the audio feature allows you to have a stilted conversation, though the translations can be pretty dreadful at times. I hear the OCR of handwriting (rather than just printed text) is now a thing.
