The 1934 Black Cat, directed by the brilliant Edgar Ulmer, is a classic. I've tried to watch The Ghoul a couple of times but found it hard to get into, mainly because the print I had of it was in very shabby condition (and I'm not sure that it was very well shot in the first place). H. I think this will be a poor print too. I see its production company is Gaumont British.

H. Apparently it was considered lost until they found a mutilated Czech copy. Then they later found a perfect nitrate negative. But the released version was the poor Czech one, so maybe you saw that. In 2003, MGM/UA released the fully restored version of the film on DVD. This is a basic DVD, with minimal extras, but does say MGM DVD and 2003, so maybe it won't be bad.

I've been thinking about this overnight, and after what happened yesterday with a thread I set up and being encouraged by several men to take it down, I've decided to take a protracted break. I know I always say that, but this time the circumstances are different. It's my own fault really. Of course now there will be no one to create threads for you, but I'm sure you are quite capable of creating some yourselves. Hopefully this year will be better for us all and bring us cheerful news and happier times. We need them.

Has Canada produced many horror films or TV? David Cronenberg is Canadian
From Wikipedia:
David Paul Cronenberg CC OOnt (born March 15, 1943) is a Canadian film director, screenwriter, and actor.[1] He is one of the principal originators of what is commonly known as the body horror genre, with his films exploring visceral bodily transformation, infection, technology, and the intertwining of the psychological with the physical. Cronenberg is best known for exploring these themes through sci-fi horror films such as Shivers (1975), Scanners (1981), Videodrome (1983), and The Fly (1986), though he has also worked in multiple genres throughout his career.[2]
Cronenberg's films have polarized critics and audiences alike; he has earned critical acclaim and has sparked controversy for his depictions of gore and violence.[3][4] The Village Voice called him "the most audacious and challenging narrative director in the English-speaking world".[5] His films have won numerous awards, including, for Crash, the Special Jury Prize at the 1996 Cannes Film Festival, a unique award that is distinct from the Jury Prize as it is not given annually, but only at the request of the official jury, who in this case gave the award "for originality, for daring, and for audacity".[6]
One from (several) tv programs:
Goosebumps is a children's anthology horror television series based on R. L. Stine's best-selling book series of the same name. It is an anthology of stories about tweens and young teens finding themselves in creepy and unusual situations, typically involving supernatural elements or the occult.

Has Canada produced many horror films or TV? David Cronenberg is Canadian, and his early films were funded by the Canadian government. Ginger Snaps (dir. John Fawcett, 2000) is a brilliant Canadian werewolf movie - and unusual for having a female lead. I am sure there are others.

It's the Winter Olympics soon, changing the conversation in a totally random way, naturally, and I read they had a sport called Horse Skijoring at a past Olympics, between the wars. Horses pulled a skier around a course.

I'm sure it can't be the only odd winter sport, the Summer Olympics had lots of what we would now regard as strange sports at one time.

I see there is Bandy, which people might recognise, a popular sport in Russia and Scandinavia.

I'm not modelling today, which means I can concentrate on something I have been planning on here. My Gothic timeline. And it is something everyone can contribute to, so check out my thread, as we work to make a timeline of Gothic literature, embracing key literary and scientific and world events throughout the late 18th to early 19th century. I'm sure everyone can contribute, so if you think you can and aren't a member why not join so you can help? I'll see you on that thread soon!

I hope the long term members of this site don't mind me using an animated gif for my picture, but I'm not the first, as Shrink Proof has one.
