I decided to make an end of year complaint. There's a shock. Remind me in a few days when my superb admin skills more likely to be functional ...

I have to go to relatives now to see in the New Year, So Happy New Year everyone! Now that you've pointed it out, I quite relish the idea of being called a "slime beast"; I certainly don't inspire terror (more like laughter) in any other way.
Happy New Year to you too, Annastacia, and everybody in the Vault! Maybe it be healthy, happy and prosperous.

I thought it might be interesting to do a sort of gazetteer of imaginary places from ghost/horror fiction, but I'm not sure how to set it up. Obviously you would need to include the author and story or stories. It would be useful as well as it would supply stories by other authors that the work had appeared in. We mentioned this a little here: the vaultofevil.proboards.com/thread/7708/invented-places-origins

I hope the men on here didn't overindulge too much last night, the best I managed was some fizz and a babycham. But I'm not really a drinker. I thought the drones last night from the London firework display were very well done, I read they used over 300.

If you are a guest and a bit shy about posting, I think you should make a New Year resolution to set up a profile here. It's anonymous, and I'm sure you have a lot to contribute, and would do a much better job than me. Why not give it a try? There is nothing to lose and you might make new friends.

Being anonymous means you can be judged for yourself, for instance in real life I'm one of the most beautiful women on Earth, but on here I don't get bothered because of it, and people can just find me plain annoying, and not have to pretend to like me because I'm hot. How good is that?

I know this is a long shot but... Has anyone on here eaten human flesh?

I know this is a long shot but... Has anyone on here eaten human flesh? I'm asking this because I've been told it tastes like pork, and if you eat human brains you go mad. Is any of this correct?

Of course if you answered in the affirmative, then you would be quite insane, there would be no ifs or buts about it, and have to be locked up in a padded room for the rest of your life, but in my opinion it's a small price to pay to answer my curiosity. And let's be honest about this, if anyone has acted like a man eating zombie in real life then it's going to be a Vault member.

I think the brains thing must be a reference to kuru, which is a neurodegenerative disease formerly found in a tribe in Papua New Guinea that practised funerary cannibalism. It's a prion disease, related to Creutzfeld-Jacobs disease (CJD) and "mad cow disease" (BSE), but you would need to eat an already infected brain to become infected yourself.

The 1934 Black Cat, directed by the brilliant Edgar Ulmer, is a classic.
I've tried to watch The Ghoul a couple of times but found it hard to get into, mainly because the print I had of it was in very shabby condition (and I'm not sure that it was very well shot in the first place).
