Does anybody know who that is? It is H G Wells. Thanks, I'm not a big fan so didn't recognize him. But I wondered if it was some other writer of horror/weird fiction.

I particularly liked the one for Three Men in a Boat, which shows three different boats. And the Tolkein-themed one for A Short History of England borders on genius.

At least they got the colour right on "The Yellow Wallpaper", & "Call of the Wild" kind of makes sense.
My personal worst 10 are:
"The Importance of Being Ernest","Macbeth", "Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl", "Don Quixote", "The Autobiography of Ben Franklin", "Little Women", "Hamlet" "The Sign of Four" "Jane Eyre, & "The Hunchback of Notre Dame".
Thanks for the (diverting) link, Dr. Strange!

The copyright notice of Sheba Blake is great.
Copyright 2017 by H. P. Lovecraft.
Indeed? That is not dead which can eternal lie and so on. But I guess John Bolton gladly gave his permission to use this commercially.

I can only imagine these sort of publishers use out of copyright texts they have picked up on sites like Gutenberg and have some sort of random image search they use to pick up a cover from the Internet. I assume they use a few search words based on the book title. They probably do hundreds of books, that are printed on demand. If I search for an old book on my ebook site there are loads of these. Not often as bad as Sheba Blake though.

Random this but, being a Londoner (you I mean), with a Londoners accent (see Dick Van Dycke in Mary Poppins) do you know any pearly kings or queens? And do you eat jellied eels?

I find this to be ridiculous, this isn't even one of those joke publish on demand efforts. Mondadori are a major publisher. Another.
