I bought a digital copy of "Will Anyone Find Out...." in July but the story's well worth re-reading anyhow (thanks, Mr. Mains!) A fine choice, Dem!

Well done to Johnny for that fine tale. I liked how the tables were turned and I really enjoyed it. Nice to see that namecheck for the VoE. Thank you.

Day Nineteen The ichor, the ichor ....Chrissie Demant .....revives a rare excursion into Cthulhu Mythos/ steamy '80's pop video crossover territory by Britain's Necromancer of Chills, Franklin Marsh, author of the celebrated Auld Franklin's Almanak Of Doom, "twelve tales of terror (and one godawful poem)" torn gouging and biting from the dark realm of nightmare. Mr. Marsh is also widely acknowledged as the world's foremost authority on the life and works of fearless occult investigator and Black Sorcery novelist, Gregory Pendennis. His latest flesh creeper, Computer Wild, appears in Nigel Taylor's splendid Worlds Of Strangeness #2.

Thanks Dem, and thank you so very much Chrissie for that incredible illustration (it's better than the story)

Great stuff from Franklin again. It had that delightful quirkiness that is so distinctive of his stories. Wonderful illustration, too. Thank you.

Ooh, you lucky so and so! Looks like another winner; too bad I can find no mention of these books online as I'd quite like to buy them.... You and me both, Swampy. This entire 'Worldwide Books' business is a rubiks cube wrapped up in a jigsaw puzzle! As one domino falls, so another snake climbs a ladder that wasn't there before, and we've already played our joker! Are the authors of Capricorn: The Midnight Library and Driving Home For Christmas one and the same entity? Is 'Frank' really Frank or is he somebody else? It's driving me Christmas crackers! The way things are going, who would rule out further twists in the tale before the week is through?

Reggie Oliver Buy A Goat For Christmas Day Twenty brings another deliciously cruel tale from the Dark Princess of Mortbury, Anna Taborska. In deference to the season of joy and niceness, this story - from the Dracula Society's Children of the Night Award winning For Those Who Dream Monsters - is almost heart-warming - by Anna's standards - but, inevitably, a relatively happy ending for some demands a heavy toll in human suffering for others. We don't ask much (and expect less) of 2018, but is it too much to ask that the coming year finally sees publication of the eagerly-awaited Bloody Britain?

A very unusual Christmas story from Anna. I had no idea where it was going and that ending was terrific. Centurion 1 Werewolf 0 Thank you.

Marvelous story! Great ending. I imagine Ms Taborska smiled the whole time while writing this.

Another twist in the tail. Will this WorldWide Distributors torment never end? Day Twenty-One: Horror anthologists do the funniest things Chrissie Demant Two hours later than planned but worth the delay as today we unveil The Collectors, a previously unpublished story by Charles Black, author of the drop dead ghoulish collection Black Ceremonies (Parallel Universe, 2015), and editor of the consistently rewarding Black Books Of Horror. Will the brinkmanship of rival bibliophiles spell doom for reclusive author 'Edmund Maitland?’ Attachments:The Collectors.pdf (105.67 KB)

That was a very good one from Charles. I enjoyed the references to the publishing world and particularly the Pan Book of Horror and its sadly ficticious rival The Satyr Book of Horror. Good, grisly fun. Thank you.

The last time I got involved with fictitious entities I was dramatised for months (which is like being traumatised but with intervals and ad breaks)...

"Beano Annual," Lurker??
I really need the Satyr Book of Orgies... it would however not be an item for the "Phwoar!" thread...
May the Yule Goat be kind,
H.

Why, yes, indeed. And one that I wrote a fair bit of, too.
