For anyone who's interested, I've been allowed to start a (very) random film review page courtesy of Gray Friar Press. The mixture of reviews up already should be a good indicator of the kind of thing I'll be waxing humorous about in the future. I figured as the emphasis will be on 1970s pictures filled with blood and lovely ladies there might be a few interested parties on here. I'm prepared to do requests and yes I've already been asked to do 'Confessions of a Shopaholic' and 'He's Just Not That into You'. Anyway, the link is: www.grayfriarpress.com/films/index.html

Is Carnival of Souls too arty at this early stage, John? That movie always did something strange to me. I'd like to see your take on it

Thanks everyone! Those are all excellent choices and will be covered in due course. I wonder if it's telling that I have copies of all three of those movies, with Corruption in a variety of different European versions.

Ok Mr Marsh - I've got that on a double bill with Death Curse of Tartu. The box warns that the movie contains nudity and jellyfish!

I see "Dracula Prisoner of Frankenstein" on there, FM, possibly one of the worst wastes of celluloid that's ever polluted my line of vision... and I've seen all three "On the Buses" films! Gin-sozzled Dennis Price's Frankenstein being given the voice of a youthful American actor who reads extracts from his journal that fail to match the words appearing in the journal on-screen? An aged Dracula who seems to spend most of the movie propped up in the seat of hearse looking car-sick - not so much the undead as the "better check he isn't dead"? Staked Dracula turning into a bat with a tiny stake glued to its fur, then same bat looking like it's going to drown in a beaker being filled up with blood? And these are the highlights! It makes Franco's "Count Dracula" look like a masterpiece... which it most definitely isn't!

So have I! And I know that Holiday on the Buses was directed by Eddie Izzard's dad! Glad to see someone else on the board has sat through some of the inimitable Mr Franco's celluloid atrocities. I think Dem may have seen Jack the Ripper but I'm not sure
