Meant to say before, i'm not a massive fan of 'Creep' (but it wasn't as crap as i'd been led to believe!), why have an american as the main character??? some of it was very enjoyable though but all in all there is better stuff out there.

right then-actual comments on issue 4... (hope this is the right place to put 'em)
'character'-i ended up really enjoying this but did start off thinking 'oh another story about a horror writer...'even though this is something i'm sure we're all guilty of-wrtite what you know and all that. however as it went on i really enjoyed it.
'bait'-again as a whole i enjoyed it even though there were two points which grated. -buying alcohol in the early hours from a supermarket. unless the laws changed since the last time i tried to buy a beer at 11.01 in sainsburys this doesnt really happen...inflated prices at 24 hour mini marts for the bloke to slip you a few stellas that i could see. -the gun...just a little convenient and i didn't like the explanation. perhaps if he'd bought it because he'd done a photo story on local crime rackets (a la the odessa file) i'd have believed it more. that said i really enjoyed the rest of the story and really liked the noirish feel that it generated.
the two short 'toliet' (Holding On and Phone Number) stories were both very enjoyable and short as well as being nice and punchy.
i enjoyed part 4 of the 'moor' story but really wanted to read the rest OF THE TALE to put it in perspective.
all in all i really liked FC but i would say that i thought the layout could do with a rejig- the address etc appeared about a quarter of the way through...

^probably not =O(
-they are well worth getting and i have found the more of them you read the more you buy into the whole concept of a basically never ending zombie story!! kind of like how you want the films to be (well for me anyway...)
oh and ben is just fine thanks!!

hahaha! bloody well found it! not a westall
Just made a start on this with Philip Pullman - Video Nasty: On the old board ("during the war ...") we had this thread You Know It's The Eighties When .... - perhaps FM will revive it if you ask him nicely. Anyhow, despite being set a decade later, Video Nasty is as 'eighties as Yuppie slime barbies, shoulder pads, Scary Monsters And Super Creeps, and the cover of The Witches: 1 The Prisoner
Early teens Kevin, Martin and David are bunking off school, getting thrown out of Woolworths, stealing Mars bars and generally getting up to no good, biding their time until they can collect their under-the-counter video, Snuff Park, from their creepy newsagent. They're soon joined by a strange youth who pleads to be allowed to join them for the private screening around Martin's house. The guys don't reckon he'll be able to handle it but turns out he's seen it over a hundred times and there's a dreadful reason for his obsession... "
