FRIGHT '71 is a great film. I have an Aussie dvd of it. Oddly enough it gets little praise but I found it pretty creepy!

A thirty years version ( presumably an update) was printed in 1975.

Mick Aston unfairly took alot of stick from the establishment for starting Time Team - presumably because he opened up the field to the common people. The three day deadline must also of wrankled the old guard but that was the secret of the show's success. Sadly he resigned before the last series was made because of what he saw as a dumbing down of the show. Personally I found the latter seasons less interesting as the core team had sprawled into an unwieldy mass of experts and the initial intimacy of the concept was lost. Rest in peace Mick - you are very much missed.

Couldn't help wondering if McMillan and wife ever faced a supernatural threat so I had a look. i came up with these two episodes :
Night of the Wizard ( phoney psychic) The Devil You Say ( involves Satanism and Halloween!)

Starsky & Hutch: The Vampire. Not seen it, but perhaps best left that way as I doubt it improves on how it plays in my head. >>
It's very good stars John Saxon.
The Champions : Shadow of the Panther - voodoo episode. The Night People - witchcraft episode.
Starsky @ Hutch : There's both a voodoo and devil worshipper episodes.
Strange Report : A Matter of Witchcraft.

I'm thinking of a book called The Amorous Milkman by Nesbitt. He directed the film in 1973. So that's that solved! I've actually never read a Confessions book though I have a few. Regarding the Regan book , I can't help you further on others though , I'm pretty sure I've some Sweeney books in a box around here.

I've read the Regan book - I remember it being pretty damn good! I have a copy of the Milkman book if it's the one penned by Derren Nesbitt?

Other than the two Scorpion books he's only written one other book that could broadly fit under horror tag called A Touch Of Hell. It's pretty good about a village quarantined with a contagion. Other than that he has written under other names , westerns and pulp action books. He's a proper pulp action writer - search him out! Steve ( Walking Dead) who used to post here interviewed Mike.

Yep it's pretty good. Not as gore filled as the usual Hutson fare ( he even admits this at the start) - but it still rattles along well for an adaption which by dint can be too familiar to the Hammer film fan reader. I've come to the conclusion that these reinventions of classics aren't a bad way to go - giving something new as long as they stick to the basic plot. Heretical talk - ah well. KC
