Awesome find - but my God but that looked terrible! Naturally I'd of watched it being a fan of the book. KC

Totally agree on VILLAGE OF FEAR - one of the first Nel horrors I read!

Sounds pretty awesome actually. It's one of the fabled Nels I've not run across yet. Last one I read was The Odour of Decay which was as good as I recall FM saying it was.

It's been a long time since I read this but I quite enjoyed it. I've never had a problem with Tremayne - his Dracula books are worth a look.

Must agree with Ripper - the tree obsession story is my favourite in TALES THAT WITNESS MADNESS. Collins in Babydoll nightie brandishing an axe is a top Brit horror image! The Tiger story is pretty creepy too - raw red bones under the bed - brrrrr. The last story features Mary Tamm's bare butt ( presuming that wasn't a stand in) - so really not a bad Anth after all eh?

Thanks so much for the link to the rest of the illustrations. I'd only seen a few before - the rest are new Wrightson pics to me and I thought I'd seen alot of his work! '72 was a particularly good vintage for Wrightson fans. Must find a reasonably priced copy of this book now. KC btw there's a second book!

Was gutted to read yesterday of Lewis' passing. Like the rest I've been a fan of The Professionals since it began and will certainly be upgrading to the Bluray set next year. I caught the end of today's ITV4 broadcast hoping for an In Memory Of ... but nothing - we live in sad times where advertising the next Darts competition is all that matters... KC

Whitechapel cancelled to make way for new drama. Shame.

I'll be honest and say I read 2/3rds of this before drifting away. It's choc full of detail , particularly on the political side I seem to remember. I'll no doub't finish it one day...

It's a long time since I started this thread and nearly as long since I posted on it. My latest secondhand finds are RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD by John Russo ( who I believe is featured in the latest Paperback Fanatic) and WOLF TRACKS by David Case. I'm also reading SAXON'S BANE by Geoffrey Gudgion which was published this year which is a British rural supernatural occult thriller set around an archeological dig and it's very good - if you like stuff like THE WICKERMAN this will be up your street.Hoping this propels me into a horror fiction reading spate!

Just picked up the Two Fisted Tales boxset - it's tremendous! Will watch out for Frontline Combat box next.
