Some might not find him particularly horrific - but wait until you've woken up one morning, looked in the mirror, and seen this staring back at you... terrifying... .>
Always good to put a name to a face .. heh
Not decided yet which my fave PAN cover is - number 4 is GOOD - but feels old skool to the photo gallery stuff - which *I* anyway equate with PAN HORROR! I think LAWNMOWER HEAD is getting a rum deal though - I accept the un-british position it holds in regard to PAN HORROR - but as a visual it's a cracker - symbolism of sorts - it shows a tad more inventiveness than quite a few others - which lovely as they are - are generailsed horror imagery for the most part - maybe that's the point.
Dem's WEDDING CAKE choice is a good call - it's highly original and a bit creepy - maybe not as creepy as No.29 - which is horrid!
Go one I'll vote - SKULL SNOWMAN for me - brrrrrrr

Same with films like Day Of The Triffids: The Sorcerers: The Deadly Bees, etc. They'll always be horror films to me. >> Now you see to me DAY OF THE TRIFFIDS is absolutely bonofide science fiction. I could go with horror on THE DEADLY BEES - but THE SORCERERS is a blend! I've a feeling the sci-fi you don't dig is the spacey stuff ? Am I on target ? KC

Ha ha I used to get it drummed into me that it was SF not sci-fi. Does it stand for science fiction or science fantasy ( I tend to go with the latter).I think SF is somewhat snobby actually - sci-fi is my retro term of choice.:-)

No complaints in this household about the Dr Who Christmas fest! Mixing the Poseiden Adventure with The Robots of Death was always going to be a good bet.Dare I suggest that Christmas telly is as much about the familiar as it about being different and new Dr Who is pretty much the best sci-fi you'll find on the box these days - outstripping even the American good stuff.
Also rewatched THE EXORCISM last night and can't really get the complaints I've read here. Sure it's heavily politically motivated and maybe a 200 year old pauper woman wouldn't use the word *planet* - or maybe she would ? I'll just say I really dig 1970's supernatural plays and leave it at that - but then I find alot to love in watching VIVA KNEVIEL too ...

Ha - just run across this thread! Joanie in babydoll nightie wielding a meat clever at the big 'ol tree stump is arguably the greatest tosh image in brit horror ! I have TTWM on ntsc video - the least seen anthology out there - probably. Look out for Mary Doctor Who Tamm getting naked in the voodoo feast story too !
