I recall buying Brand new in my WH Smiths. The Festering, The Camp, Mania, Fiend, The Unseen, The Black Fedora, The Resurrected, The Sucking Pit, Walking Dead, Island, Alligators, Locusts, Cannibals, the Master, Bloodshow, Manitou Doll, Thirst II The Plague and Snakes.
The shelves bulged with his books. I went each Saturday and bought like 4 at a time. Happy Days.

Chainsaw Terror is great and well worth a read . Gory and sleazy too. Come the Night is a censored version of that very book.

Hi. You would never have seen this version when you were 12. It was in a butchered version on tape titled Nights of Terror. It had around 18mins cut from it.
Shriek Show released a superb region 1 dvd full of goodies. But credit for clumsy old Vipco for finally getting it uncut here. The freaky kid is Peter Bark. He's has garnered quite a cult status .

"MIND THE DOORS"
Excellent film. Did anyone see the more recent Brit film CREEP that had elements of this .

Got Darkside when it first launched after seeing it in John Menzies and from then on in Ive never missed an issue. Although the mag has dwindled , peaked , plummeted and risen so many times I kind of stay along for the ride. Of course the early glossy covers like FEAR were good old days but times moved on. The mag introduced a horror guide A to Z style that ran for years and the small reviews for the films seemed to be reiterated from old articles from way back ie No fresh material. Reviews or articles for the video nasties were basically word for word and never changed in the decades. And I agree with the above member , the dvd review pages are awfully laid out. But I still keep on buying the rag. In face my letter was in one a few months back

Still got every issue of FEAR. The first issue was good but it was'nt till issue 2 when I really got excited about the mag as it had Herbert and Hutson interviews inside Oliver Frey I believe painted those stunning covers. Sadly Darkside seemed to kill off FEAR . Shame really as Darkside is still running today . ( Got all them too. Oh and Samhain )

Oh sheeeeeet Ive got one. A few years back when I was out of work and strapped for cash I sold my Ghoul ( Guy N Smith ) on ebay as I knew it would fetch a few bob. Think I got about £18 for it too. Felt great then. Ive got virtually all his books but that gap and knowing I will not find it again ( let alone in that condition ) kills me. A 24 carat plonker I am . Also sold Werewolf by Moonlight too. Oh crap I'm welling up

:'(Couple of years ago I was in a tight spot financially and saw Ghoul was worth a bob or two on ebay so I sold it. Along with one of the wolf book. What a tool I am.

Hmmm I once lost Gary Brandners DEATHWALKERS when I moved house. It was in the boxes when we left. But when we got in the new digs and opened em up the bugger had gone. No great loss but it still puzzles me.

I keep all my dodgy books as well as all the others. If I see one with a better spine than the one I already have I get that too. Ive up to 5 of the same book at times. Man I'm sad.

Could be my all time favourite book cover that. Added my views on this great author in the BREEDING GROUND thread.
