BEYOND THE RAVE! Early in 2008 the world will watch as soldier Ed's nightmare unfolds in 20 terrifying episodes!.... 'Beyond the Rave' is a high-octane blend of kick-ass music and gruesomely enjoyable online terror. I downloaded the press release, but I'm still unsure why this film will be in 20 episodes, or why it's "online terror". Is this going to be in the cinemas? Mixed feelings about a rave setting. Is this some sort of nostalgia angle aimed at 30 year olds?

No idea, Rog. They sent it so I thought I'd post it... I'm not very excited. Probably we're all expecting to be underwhelmed. And if it's to be an internet-only thing which won't be much use to dial-up users, I'll certainly be pissed-off. It should at least be TV viewable. But we're all hoping...

Do people still go to raves? They were never really my thing and the only one I've heard about up here recently is more of a reunion event than a regular occurrence.

I suppose every generation gets what they deserve. Mine was punk rock....mmmh. I can't imagine much less exciting than a rave but then I am an old f*rt.

Some more up to the micro-second news on this from The Mirror (Dec. 13th);
" ... But before being sold on DVD, the spine-chiller, which features Sadie Frost will be available online to download in 20 parts.
Hammer has linked up with social networking website MySpace - fuck, no - to release the movie next spring.
Simon Oakes, chairman of Hammer Films, said: "We're creating horror for the 21st Century."
Actually I'm quite pleased that Beyond The Rave is in the fine tradition of Hammer being up to date and wiv it. Perhaps we'll get a long overdue scary set during the heady days of Rollermania out of them next.

Just watched the trailer and a few clips - impossible to tell if .... Rave will be any good but it certainly looks suitably camp and vamp so maybe not all is lost. Here's a screengrab. I wanted one of the blood and fang shots but somehow I unfortunately wound up with a strip club sequence. Just my luck. Anyhow, this came through earlier advising us that the whole Beyond The Rave multimedia shebang is about to get underway! BEYOND THE RAVE -- LAUNCHES 00:01 BST April 17th 2008A British soldier, a blood-hungry vampire crew and three small-town gangsters collide in a 20-part horror serial set against England's illegal party scene. Love, friendship, heart-pumping violence and head-pounding beats... watch it from EPISODE 01 HEREAcross almost sixty years, Hammer has saved the world from alien invasion, revelled in Sapphic bloodlust, pitted Hollywood legends against English schoolboys, summoned the Devil, cavorted with evil twins, been driven mad bythe abominable snowman and fought-off Chinese vampires. It has created monsters, resurrected aristocrats, exhumed the undead and run away with a blood-sucking circus. With BEYOND THE RAVE, Hammer combines its genre heritage with contemporary themes and kick-ass tunes, delivering the heady mix as immersive entertainment for long-time fans and Hammer virgins alike. I've ordered mine from play.com - I have a complete collection of Hammer DVDs (apart from the On the Buses types, I hastily add). And it does include Ingrid Pitt. £10.99 including postage and packing. David

Is it just me or does the line 'Harder Extended Edition' just sound deliciously wrong?
