Davide Barzi e Luca Laca Montagliani - Da Antonioni a Zora: L'arte di Emanuele Taglietti (Editoriale Cosmo, 2024, hc; 560 pages) This huge hardcover is a showcase for the art of Italian artist Emanuele Taglietti. In the 80s he drew a lot of covers for the comic book publisher Edifumetto, for horror/sex fumetti like Zora la Vampira, Sukia, Wallestein and all other genre series like La Poliziotta or Moschitteria. Carefully made it gives a short history of each series, who did what and the problems with censorship. There is Taglietti's complete bibliography of the artist's contributions for each title. It also gives an overview of his career before and after the comics. Taglietti worked for the movies and directors like Antonioni, Fellini, Gassman and Corbucci, to name a few.
This is an oversized hardcover which weighs a ton, too heavy and too big for my scanner, hence some poor snapshots only. The text is of course Italian, but I had no problem ordering this. It is nearly 500 pages of full sized original pictures in all their, hm, voluptuous beauty without the later text and logos of the fumetti covers.

I want it! It is pretty expensive, though.

I want it! It is pretty expensive, though. Yes. It is really expensive. And there are of course a lot of pictures already covered in Sex and Horror by Korero Press in 2015.
But I have to say a thing which I don't say often these days: It it really worth its money. My only critique could be - and this is a small thing and purely subjective - that the book has one of those laminated pasteboard (?) covers instead of a dust jacket. On the other hand, this book is even larger as the Hellboy Library Volumes and not nearly as delicate. Also a good thing.

Here are two photos to show the dimensions. Nice! But is it sewn or glued?

I received my copy. For those who were wondering---yes, it is sewn. As well it should be, at its price.

I had no idea about his involvement in the film industry (possibly because I had not paid attention).
