Horror was an Italian comic magazine edited by Gino Sansoni in Milano. The 31 issues appeared from December 1969 to October 1972. The black and white content was a mix of short horror comic stories, macabre cartoons, articles about the occult, movies and literature. With 72 pages it cost 300 Lire. All the covers were done by artist Marco Rostagno. The artwork was fabulous, the magazine featured artists like Crepax, Hugo Pratt, Jean Giraud (Moebius), Sergio Zaniboni and Phillipe Druilett. The stories concentrated mostly on the Gothic elements of horror, there were adaptions of Poe and Stoker. Back then the magazine won some Italian awards, but nowadays I guess it will be mostly forgotten. Compared to other horror Fumetti of its time the content was very tame. It had none of the excesses which were the fundament of series like Oltretomba or Zora la Vampira; there was no gore and just some mild nudity.
