(Ramble House, 2024)
CONTENTS Introduction - Johnny Mains The Black Dwarf of Vienna Italy's Royal Mascot Countess Gertrude of Orlamunde The Headless Knight of Willigrad The Drummer Boy of Reisen The Legend of the Nun of Quedlinburg The Riderless Horse of the Steppes The Holy Well of Eisenstadt The Black Monk of the Castells The Black Lady of Podhorce The White Lady of Robeck The Ghost of Rougine The Legend of Berestetchko The Fatal Bell The Ghost of the Castle of Zinneberg The Haunted Parsonage
Came across a notice for this in newspaper archives, couldn't find a copy so got it from the British Library. The author led a very interesting life (Uncle was Honore de Balzac, she was jailed twice, stalked an elderly Cecil Rhodes until he died, then wrote a biography about him, ex-lover felled by a heart-attack after being chloroformed during an orgy) - and while the book is in the style of a Elliot O'Donnell tome, it's not without merit. Will put cover up when I get it.

What a fascinating find. I look forward to hearing more!
An excellent conteuse noted for her skill and economy of words--perhaps she was a relation of our own Princess Tuvstarr?
cheers, Hel.

What a fascinating find. I look forward to hearing more! An excellent conteuse noted for her skill and economy of words--perhaps she was a relation of our own Princess Tuvstarr? cheers, Hel. I knew here at the court in St. Petersburg, it was whilst on visits to my cousins the Romanovs in the 80s and 90s, we small talked. Her aunt was married to HonorƩ de Balzac I believe (just noticed Mr Mains mentioned this, well I never fully read posts on here myself, and the servant who usually does it is taking her yearly regular holiday to Bognor), I also attended the salon of another aunt in Paris and first met the great Adam Mickiewicz there. It's a small world, who knew that one day she would pop up on the Vault!

Noose & Gibbet Publishing? Heh. Nice logo! Well it started in 2010 and is ending this year after 6 books, so yeah, thought I'd put up the logo for a while. It's served me well but all things come to and end.
