Holy moly. Even by 21st century standards, that's a phenomenally ugly photo cover.
Hel.

John Burke - The Black Charade (Linford Mystery, 2012; originally 1977) Blurb: Dr. Caspian and his wife Bronwen, both possessed of genuine psychic powers, have gained a reputation as investigators of so-called psychic phenomena, exposing a number of fraudulent mediums. They are consulted by prominent politician Joseph Hinde, whose daughter Laura has become strangely withdrawn. He suspects she may be attending sƩances in an attempt to contact her dead mother.
Asked to rescue her from the clutches of evil charlatans, the Caspians' investigations uncover a trail of people dying in strange and horrible circumstances... I like Linford. They've also reissued a number of long out of print Syd Bounds and Brian Ball titles - in fact, Syd's Seance of terror compilation seems to be unique to them. They also have a large print edition of J F Straker's The Goat. I think most titles are available for loan from public libraries - that's certainly how I first became aware of Syd's Seance ... and their reissue of The Venomous Serpent

Any cover scans you have would help, I'll put them in the main post. Thank you.

Any cover scans you have would help, I'll put them in the main post. Thank you. Pretty sure those mentioned in the above post are the only Linfords I have. Should I loan more from library, will scan them in here.
