Clive Barker- Coldheart Canyon (HarperCollins UK, 2001, hc, 606 pages, this edition HarperTorch, 2002, 686 pages) Page 3 This is one of those Hollywood Hell stories or Film Crews in Peril. It begins with a villa in L.A. built by silent movie star Katya Lupi whose producer husband has put a kind of kind of haunted Romanian mediaval wall mosaik in one room, depicting a valley of sin callesd The Devil's Country. In 2000 Hollywood star Todd Pickett hides in the abandoned villa after a botched operation which had disfigured him. He stumbles upon the mosaik and its dark mysteries. Katya and retinue still live in the mosaik.
This is one of thopse door stopper novels. It is not Barker's longest novel, but with 686 pages it is quite a tome. My recollection of this is vague at best, but I seem to remember that this is the Fantasy Barker and not the Hellraiser Barker.
The paperback edition is one of those lovely productions with a second cover which went extinct a few years later.
