Hi, been trying to pin this one down again, it was an early eighties suspense comp which I think included The Bushmaster, Shredni Vashtar, The Country Of The Kind and others (read it during a bout of pneumonia which kept me off school for weeks). Generic sort of title, 'Tales of Suspense' or similar I think, and the cover illustration was, memorably, a reproduction of 'The Scream'. Appreciate any pointers

Hi, I just did some sleuthing on ISFDB and I'm not sure that there are any collections which contain all of the Hill, Saki, and Knight stories together, or even (I think) two of the three together. I also didn't see any that overlapped with "The Scream" using the 'view covers' selection, but I do have a few data points that might be relevant to you: 1) "The Scream" has likely been used on any number of covers, and I doubt the ISFDB list is comprehensive, but of the ones it does list as having the painting on the cover, there's this from 1974. It doesn't contain any of the three stories you mentioned, but looking at the ToC, it did include sci-fi stories that cover similar thematic ground to "Country of the Kind," and it did include "Thus I Refute Beezly" which is pretty thematically similar to "Sredni Vashtar" (put-upon kid's imaginary friend isn't so imaginary). 2) "The Bushmaster" only appeared in two collections (at least per ISFDB)--the 16th Pan Horror and Julian Lloyd Webber's "Short Sharp Shocks", but that didn't come out until 1990. Hope this helps!
