Charles L. Grant - The Pet (Tor Books, 1986, HC, this edition Futura 1987, 343 pages) ![](https://i.ibb.co/GJBX00g/GRant-Pet-a-tile.jpg) Another of the many "quite horror" novels of Charles L. Grant, who was really busy at the time. The bibliography counts 9 published books in 1986, the pseudonymous novels - as Lionel Fenn, Steven Charles and Geoffrey Marsh - included.

"Autumn touches Ashford with frosty fingers and he bridles, 'Oooh darlin', put some gloves on will ye?'"
9 books in one year, and this one alone was 343 pages--did he sleep, eat, or visit the loo at all during that year? How many times did he have to change his typewriter ribbon, one wonders.
Great scan!
