If anyone enjoys Victorian era ghost stories, I noticed a series of Kindle ebooks on Amazon that may be of interest. They are the "Wimbourne Book of Victorian Ghost Stories" and so far there are 9 volumes in the series. Each is edited by Alastair Gunn, with author notes, introduction, and 20 stories per volume. Some also have a bonus article reprinted from a periodical. There are some well-known tales, but also quite a few that are unknown--or at least they are to me. All volumes are currently 99p each, except volume 1, which for some reason is £1.99.
Wimbourne are also offering collections from authors like Lettice Galbraith, Wilhemina FitzClarence and Mary E. Penn, all edited by Alastair Gunn, though they are currently all £2+ per volume.

This looks fabulous. Even a decent packaging. looks like something Penguin would have done in the classy old days. I didn't count them but 400 stories? That's a lot.
If I had to guess, 3 and 8?

Am certainly interested in our good friend Anonymous' masterpieces. Keep us posted! You two know me too well. Actually, it's four and eight. It was going to be three, but four had a few quid off and approx half the stories are new to me. The books are indeed attractive and the introductions - if those read are typical - informative and very worthy of the name. Typically, those volumes overburdened with anthology staples - the first pair are essentially greatest hits compilations - include at least one or two obscurities to entice the must-collect-every-ghost-story dependent.
