The sets were fab, Kinner was great and if it had finished 20 seconds earlier it would've been great. Revealing the ghost's face/skull at the end defused it at the crucial moment. It looked like the Terminator's skull after he'd been dipped in acid. Robert Bathurst's little cameo was a plus.

I did manage to set up a VPN and watch The Mezzotint on BBC iPlayer. Rory Kinnear was brilliant as always, though the awful revelation of Gawdy's skull at the end didn't quite work. I enjoyed it, probably more than any of the previous Gatiss adaptations. The end reveal didn't bother me, though it wouldn't have been missed if they had left it out. Rory Kinnear was excellent.

Yes, merry Christmas Ghostlies! I did manage to set up a VPN and watch The Mezzotint on BBC iPlayer. Rory Kinnear was brilliant as always, though the awful revelation of Gawdy's skull at the end didn't quite work. Thanks for mentioning this. I absolutely forgot it. Must hunt it down tomorrow.

Wassail! A slow start for me this Christmas Eve, but I've finally managed to gnaw through the leather straps and make it to the keyboard to wish the inmates of this institution a cool Yule. For those of you who were hoping for a ghost story for Christmas, well, here's your Christmas present. Excellent tale, Dr. Proof! I particularly appreciated the parts about the {Spoiler}strangely spacious interior of the cottage and the draped Things on pedestals

"The Ghoul" was both sad and horrifying (but not as one might have expected). Excellent find, Dem!
cheers, Hel
