This is just a fun thread, and should be taken in that spirit (hehe). It is not a comment on anyones personal beliefs about spiritualism.
If you could have your very own spirit guide, to advise you about the mysteries of the Beyond, and share stories to punters of how various related grandmothers or great-aunties are enjoying bingo in heaven, then who would it be?
Mostly spirit guides tend to be male and of a wiser people than Europeans, like the Ancient Chinese, or American Indian. But I feel that it is a bit sexist and also that there were real older European civilisations that existed and could be used, like Atlantis, Lemuria (which, although some claim is in the Indian Ocean, I feel sure was just off the coast at Blackpool), or Lyonesse, where the real figure of Tristan comes from.
Of all the marvellous people who ever lived and walked, and sang, and loved, and mourned (building it up big here), and breathed in deep the sweet air of the planet Earth (still going), who would you like to see come back and guide you (and tell you about heavenly bingo halls)?
All of history is your Oyster, as they say, so don't be shy!
I'll have to have a think and tell you soon!

Robin Williams, Ingrid Pitt, any of the wives of Henry VIII & one of my late uncles who I wished I'd spent more time with? For whatever reason, those are the people I've come up with. I wonder what Freud would say about that? I don't think I want him as a spirit guide, though.

But I didn't understand any of it.

I'm filling threads with things that have nothing to do with the content and the site again. Last time I did that I did a big boo boo. I'll take a break. Don't forget to suggest books on science! Bye!

Miss Scarlett, I suggest Anne of Cleves as your spirit guide. Such a sensible woman and I adored how Elvi Hale portrayed her in the TV series The Six Wives of Henry VIII.
One of my not so secret spirit guides is the late American actress Grayson Hall (obit 1985). Her guidance mainly takes the form of healthily caustic laughter and the raspy comment: "Really, darling? You want to do that? You might want to count to ten, make a cup of tea and think that over again."
cheers, Hel.

I'd actually thought of Anne of Cleves first, but then thought "well, any of them would do".
I've never heard of Grayson Hall (sounds like a stately home) but she seems to be a lot of fun.

I know I said I was leaving (again, again), and you are all thinking will she ever leave, but I just thought of something. When those Ghost Groups examing strange goings on in old ruins, and glades with standing stones and Richard Felix parties, they all have a job. Here I show how a party is made up and reveal who on here is what. There seem to be four types: The Scientific Advisor. Who has a handheld box that has a red flashing light and says "there is a cold spot here". The Psychic, who wears bright clothing and has a tan. The Man Who Runs About From Room To Room saying "Did you see that!" and nobody else has. The Woman (sexist) Whose Job Is To Scream. Here are a few suggestions: The Scientific One: The Psychic The One Who Runs Around: Ripper (lazy man can't add an image) He has a huge photo (sounds a bit Carry On that) Woman (Sexist) Who Screams That's me! Man Who Sits In Studio Overseeing Investigation Studio Historian Richard Felix What an exciting show it will be!

This being the Vault, there has to be one that goes mad and starts bumping the others off in classic Film Crew in Peril style.

If I've missed you out please suggest which one of these amazing four investigators of the unknown you would like to be. Hermit how is your screaming? Dr Strange seems very keen top have a mass murderer in the group. Hmmm. What can we read into this?
Dr Strange, my lovely man, please repeat after me: "There is a cold spot here! It could be a class 3 entity." Helrunar: "He is looking for his pet chicken that he lost in 1843, he can't cross-over until he finds it." Swampirella in studio: "I'll check historical records to find the breed of chicken." Richard Felix: "Buy my calendar. Only Ā£9.99" dem bones: "Is there any cast members of On the Buses here? Maybe Blakey?" Most Beautiful Woman in the World: "EEEIIIIIIIEEEE!"

Ok, I'm off the the Isle of Avalon! OĆ¹ les dames sont qui seiuent tous les enchantemens del monde. There, clad in white samite, I will wait on Arthur, with other maidens, and help heal his wounds. (Thank goodness thinks helrunar some peace at last), but one day I will return! Watch the horizon for a black ship sailing, mystical, wonderous!

My secret spirit guide saw jail time. I don't know who that is but I will tick like. Was he in the Dubliners?

I think I would have Christopher Hitchens and Sid James as my spirit guides.
