When I was a kid, growing up in the late 70's/early 80's, my dad used to work night shifts. He always had a NEL or Hamlyn to read at work, which he always left on the kitchen table with his keys. I was forbidden from reading them due to their levels of gut spilling and spicy hoohah. So I'd admire the covers and read the odd page of clumsy Guy N Smith smut or John Halkin animal attacks, whilst my Pa wasn't looking.
Skip forward to me in my mid 40's and I'm obsessed with these joyously shonky paperbacks. I've just about finished my Hamlyn collection, Pan book of Horror, Fontana book of Horror and Panther Horror collections and I'm focusing on filling some woeful gaps in my 5 Star, NEL, and Dennis Wheatley Library of the Occult collections.
I found this forum whilst researching some book covers and I'm really looking forward to chatting pulpy trash with y'all!

A warm welcome to the Vault, I'm sure you'll enjoy any time spent here! Thanks for your wonderful phrase "spicy hoohah", which will be with me all day.... "Shonky" is also a great adjective, which I must drop into casual conversations from now on.
