I have to face the fact that I am seriously running out of space to store books, as well as an intended move to Australia in a few years, means I need to rehome some of my books, I've never sold any before, has anybody got any ideas where is the best place to sell? I did enquire about swapping some with a dealer a while back and what they offered on the swap was ridiculously low. Also should you list multiples of an author or sell singly, any advice much appreciated Thank you Laura

Unless you're talking highly collectable modern firsts or books of a similarly premium nature then bookshops wont offer you much. Even if you are then you'd do better to sell them through e**y where you'd stand more chance of getting a fair reflection of their value. If its mass market SF, horror and fantasy you're looking to dispense with you could do worse than trade them in at the Book & Magazine Exchange in Notting Hill. They will pay cash but will offer you double in trade. A couple of ideas anyway.

I get what you mean in regards to what things are worth, I haven't been to Notting Hill since it was a record exchange in about 1988, pleased its still going I've decided I'll sell my ex occidente books ( but keep the Mark Valentine's and Reginald Oliver's) and a few tartarus press that I'm not keen on. I use to collect small press , I still buy them but only writers I'm really keen on. So I've got a few to go, as well as some Centipede Karl Edward Wagner's, I'm keeping my fontana ghosts stories, but selling the Pan's and Armadas. Also found 4 Hugh Lamb hard backs I didn't know I had. SO ebay it is
