And what Arno Press title is that in the bottom right of your last photo? I can almost make it out... Well spotted! That's Erckmann-Chatrian, The Man-Wolf.

Dust? I see no dust, only a fantastic collection! Thanks for sharing; I'm going to google several of the titles I see... Oh, I can see a few clusters of spiderwebs.

Michael Arlen's Ghost Stories - I think this is my only remaining Arno title. I do have a xeroxed copy of the Blayre papers around her somewhere. This series was the only way that I was reading any Burrage, Wakefield, Onions and many others for quite a long time. Attachments:

That Daedalus antho of Polish fantasy looks good - one for the wants list for sure. Here's a row of glossies:

this was a brilliant idea. it has been very interesting seeing other people's collections. i suspect that a number of the ones already shown have put mine to shame, but for what it is worth mine is below. the hardbacks... ...and then the paperbacks

A few shots of my library in progress. I am (finally) getting close to completion. Mr. Happy Finally, proof that over-zealous book collecting is actually influenced by evil/infernal forces....

Ugh... AMAZING. I must confess it's the old pulp paperbacks that really excite me and you have SO many! Artfully arranged too. Thanks so much for sharing. *Goes off to pore over pics some more*

Hi MissScarlett - thanks for sharing! Great photos. It looks like your Pan Horror collection is similar to mine - missing the elusive no.30 right? Not that it's particularly elusive, more like particularly EXPENSIVE! Maybe one day I'll cop a bargain in an old second hand shop or from eBay but until then I think my collection is going to remain incomplete... I have several incomplete collections actually! Fontana Horror, Fontana Ghost Stories... but then part of the fun is collecting isn't it? I think this type of book is particularly hard to come by now. When I was a kid the charity and second-hand shops seemed to be full of them but now I only really see them going for a song on eBay or Amazon. Anyway, I'll post my pics below... had a bit of a job figuring out how to insert images. Thanks again for starting such an interesting and fun thread! Wish I'd thought of it......

Here is a view of mostly paperbacks facing the bar. Anthologies start out of frame on the top left and continue until they reach the silver globe. My wife's true crime papers start there and take up the area behind the bar. The far right wall starts the single author paperback collections and novels which continues on behind me. My paperbacks are alphabetized and arranged by category but, unfortunately, most of my hardbacks are arranged by space. Mr. Happy Attachments:

Actually, those are issues 5-25. The first four and the most recent two won't fit on those particular shelves so they are filed elsewhere. As you can probably tell, I am a sucker for best of anthologies.

If the occasion of a 300th post isn't as good an excuse as any to do something self-congratulatory then I don't know what is. So I thought I'd share this snap on the assumption that it might be of passing interest to someone somewhere. For some time now I've been attempting to compile a set of John Blackburn hardbacks. Its not an obsession and the ambition has never extended to completeness; the ultra scarce and expensive final three novels he published through Robert Hale was always going to put paid to any idea of that sort. And two of those titles are reworkings of earlier books anyway. But I still believed it worthwhile to see just how far I could get before rarity and expense ultimately defeated me. As things stand nineteen 1st editions out of a total of twenty eight isn't too shabby an effort on a very limited budget. I'd like to think that scope exists to still add one or two titles to the set but if this were to mark the limit of the endeavour then I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. Of the missing titles the ones that interest me most are COLONEL BOGUS and THE WINDS OF MIDNIGHT as I don't have either of them in any alternative version.
