Where is this clip from? Looks like a 1950s movie. At first I fancied the man was standing by the side of a marooned and befriended big-headed alien, having learned from it some strangely incomprehensible and yet enlightening cosmic insights, throughout the movie, ... and now is taking a sentimental leave, as a rescue spaceship finally arrives. That would have been great! But I see now that it looks like a boy at his side, and am afraid I will have to guess, instead, that it is a more conventional story production (from the money mongers of Hollywood). Thought it might be Invaders From Mars. Beautiful movie! Or It Came From Outer Space. Or perhaps Earth vs. the Flying Saucers. But I don't recall the scene.

The image appears on the cover of Stephen King's Danse Macabre (Hodder Paperbacks).
I am not sure, but I have done some searching and believe the image is a collage, and NOT taken from a science fiction film.
Sorry, if I set anyone off on a wild-goose chase!
