I like Andy's German Carter Brown covers - I'm always surprised by German pulps: reusing existing covers, terrific original covers and so on. Here is a selection from the earliest Australian Carter Brown stapled pamphlets, plus the prices they went for when I sold them on ebay: The Lady Wore Nylon (1953) - $84 Felon Angel (1954) - $41 Madam Your Morgue-Bound (1953) - $184.50 Homicide Harem (1954) - $36 Perfumed Poison (1954) - $41 The Lady's Alive (1953) - $56.75 She Wore No Shroud (1952) - $182.50 Sweetheart You Slay Me (1952) - $305 Floozie Out of Focus (1954) - $27.50 Murder is a Broad (1953) - $51

Nice covers. And good prices.
I like the "lovely Mystery" tag. So the tongue in cheek titles were used from the beginning. "Felon Angel" is clever.
Were these already Brown's usual heroes like Wheeler & Co, or were these stand alone novels?

Were these already Brown's usual heroes like Wheeler & Co, or were these stand alone novels? From memory it took a while for the usual heroes to appear and establish themselves - certainly the first few are standalone.
