Parallel Universe Publications will be publishing Charles Black's collection of short horror stories, Black Ceremonies, in October this year. The book will include: The Coughing Coffin Call of the Damned To Summon a Flesh-Eating Demon The Revelations of Dr Maitland Face to Face A Fistful of Vengeance The Obsession of Percival Cairstairs Tourist Trap The book's cover is by Paul Mudie, well known for his striking covers for the Black Books of Horror. The accompanying illustration is an unfinished glimpse of it. paralleluniversepublications.blogspot.co.uk/

Belated congrats, Dr. Terror, long overdue. Mr. Universe: Are we talking a hardback, paperback or both?

This is the final artwork, now completed by Paul Mudie. All that will be added is the title and Charles' name. I am really looking forward to publishing this as a trade paperback in October.

That's a lovely cover - well, you know what I mean. And frankly, it's about bloody time, Charlie! Looking good...

Does anyone know if Black has many stories out there? I have this and A Taste for the Macabre, but I’d love to read more. If anyone knows of any more can you let me know? Thanks!

Some to be getting along with. Pretty certain there are more. Log in, follow links to download pdf's of the calendar stories. One Day at a Time (Marvin Kaye [ed.], H. P. Lovecraft's Magazine of Horror, Spring 2005: Marvin Kaye [ed.], Weird Tales, Spring 2014) Separation (Christopher Wood [ed], Second BHF Book of Horror Stories, 2007) The Ill-Fated Enquiries of Eric Kramer (Adam D. H. Torkelson [ed.], Horror Carousel, Spring 2006) The Overcrowded Train (Vault Advent Calendar, 2013) Grey (Vault Advent Calendar, 2014) The Last Tweet ( Whispers from the Abyss (01 Publishing, 2013: Vault Advent Calendar, 2014) Reward of the Faithful (John B. Ford & Steve Lines [eds.], Lovecraft's Disciples #31, March 2018) Dick (Vault Advent Calendar 2019) Satan's Sabbat (Vault Christmas Bedside Companion on Ice, 2020) Charlie also published short horror fiction under various pseudonyms - how many, I'm not sure - sometimes alone, at least once in collaboration with another author, whose name it is not my place to reveal. I'm sure they'll come forward in their own good time.
