Evening, everyone.
I've spent days reading through some of the threads. As a result of your recommendations, the length of my reading list now exceeds my likely lifespan. Bliss.
After a childhood and teenage years spent reading all kinds of horror and fantasy (I never really liked science fiction, despite my eventual career path) , I moved away from fiction in general and horror in particular but, over the last couple of years, I've come back with a vengeance.
My Kindle is now stuffed full of out-of-copyright horror and weird fiction but you can't beat the experience of reading a dead tree book. The pile by my bedside is now tall enough that I can see some creepy spine illustrations staring back at me in the middle of the night.
I love haunted house stories (and, of course, I'm writing one myself), occult tales, Lovecraft, Cottam, Barker, Leiber, Aycliffe, Nevill, Straub, Herbert, Fowler, Lumley,.... The list goes on.
Here's to many years of discussions.

Morning, all. Thanks for the welcome.
It's a beautiful day here in Dunblane - clear blue skies, crispy underfoot. I feel like some horror but the office will just have to do.

Of a certain vintage... likely to die under a landslide of unread books... looking to catch up on things missed and revisit old favourites... yep, you'll fit in here fine. Nice to have you.
