My very good friend Frank Westwood, one of the founders of the British Edgar Rice Burroughs Society and editor of the society’s journal The Fantastic Worlds of ERB,has sadly gone. I only met Frank once in person but was royally entertained at his house in London. He was a big fan of John Wayne and early Star-trek as well as his firm favourites, the Burroughs Martian series - so, we couldn't fail to get on. We had some great phone conversations in the wee hours over the years. I can still hear his voice across the ocean as we chatted for hours over whisky, genre films, articles and stories for his magazine and the dreadful state of the modern world - as with all friends I somehow thought he would be here forever. Rest in peace old pal. thejohncarterfiles.com/2013/10/frank-westwood-co-founder-of-the-british-edgar-rice-burroughs-society/comment-page-1/#comment-14996
