I was sad to hear that Richard Briers had passed away. He was best known for his comedies The Good Life and Ever Decreasing Circles, and in his later career for Shakespearean roles. He also made a couple of appearances in fantasies: Kenneth Branagh's Frankenstein and a 1980s Dr. Who serial.
There have been some very warm tributes paid to him today, and he seems to have been a very decent and modest man, as well as an accomplished and well-loved actor. RIP Richard.

It's not the role he'll be best remembered for, but Richard Briers gave Midsomer Murders one of it's best ever mad vicars, the Rev. Stephen Wentworth in Death's Shadow. He also performed his own stunt fall from the church roof which takes some doing for a man of his years. R.I.P. RB

Animator Bob Godfrey has sadly died at the age of 91. Richard Briers provided the voices for Godfrey's popular Roobarb cartoon series. Other series that I am sure many board members will remember with fondness include Henry's Cat and Noah & Nelly. Godfrey was producer of the BAFTA and Academy award-winning short film Great, a biography of Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
