A web animation that concerns the doings of a peculiar creature called 'Salad Fingers'. I thought it was funny at first, with his fetish for 'rusty spoons', but it gets darker, and darker, with some very dark imagery [at one point, he hangs a visitor on a hook]. He talks to finger-puppets, shuts [and cooks] a small boy in a hot oven, fondles kettles, stings himself with nettles, and, on accidentally injuring himself, says: ''I like it when the red water comes out.'' The whole look of the thing is disturbing, with secondary characters often appearing mutated. Salad Fingers is the only character in the series that talks understandably - all the rest are silent, or make chilling screeches. Salad Fingers resembles a cross between Cesare from 'Das Kabinett', and Graf Orlok from 'Nosferatu', with the face of Lon Chaney from 'London After Midnight', and long green fingers. He talks in a high-pitched northern English accent. I'm no psychiatrist, but each part seems to me what a psychotic episode must be like. The animation is basic, but actually adds to the eeriness of the thing. I've watched all the episodes so far - eight, I believe, and had several bad dreams because of it since. It's one of those odd things that once seen, is never forgotten, and you can't take your eyes off it, but I could not say that I actually enjoyed the experience. I'm sure it's creators are perfectly sane, nice people, but on watching it, you do have to wonder...

I remember my niece and nephew introducing me to Salad Fingers years ago--not something one easily forgets.
