Hello all, I am not even sure how I stumbled upon this site cause I was looking for a schematic to something but I did. This is truly a wonderful goldmine of info for cool reading. Since grade school reading has always been a passion of mine and my tastes have usually gravitated towards the strange. I grew up with Famous Monsters, Eerie, Creepy, and other trash from the 70's. I dig all kinds of different genres of fiction but the occult tinged horror stuff from the 60's-70's is real cool. Anyways thought I would just give a yell and let you know that this is a great site and I have already ordered a couple things by perusing some threads. Take care, Will

Welcome,
you're right. If it isn't on here someone is finding it out even as you type. The only problem I've found is a kind of overload of 'I must get that' based on the great reviews. My wants list is probably ls now longer than the many books that litter my office.

hi there, Will. than you for joining and for your kind compliments about our board. we're very lucky to have somehow attracted a gifted bunch of contributors, and it's good to hear their efforts are appreciated. do you have any particular favourite occult-tinged 'seventies horror favourites you'd care to mention? it's my favourite period for black magic novels. As a rule, the later ones rarely do it for me.
hope you continue to like what you read!

Hi there. I for one can certainly confirm that regularly coming here has a detrimental effect on the bank balance - the bookshelves are groaning with stuff. I seem to acquire two for every one I read.
Halloween greetings from Yorkshire...

Thanks all for the warm welcome. As for faves of the trashy 60-70's stuff I really cannot recall any specific authors. In fact I have yet to see any mention of anything that sounds familiar but I really have not even scratched the surface of going through the posts here. In my teens I went through most of Barker, Koontz, and King. Then gravitated to older stuff like Sax Rohmer, Hammett, Poe, Lovecraft, Chambers, and stuff like that. I just got a Wordsworth Edition of Aleister Crowleys "The Drug" and I am about 3 stories into it and it is actually better than I thought it would be. He paints a nice picture and it puts you there atmospherically. A bit dated but fun so far. When i get a chance I will rummage through some boxes and see if I have anything that would be of interest to the site. Then I will have to get either my wife or boy show me how to upload pics. Hope everyone has enjoyed their Halloween.
