.... to all our reader, etc. so there are still two days to go, but we might as well make a weekend of it. 'fraid you're stuck with last years lousy banner unless somebody else fancies a crack at designing a fresh one or - worst case scenario - i come over all "inspired" again, which you'd better pray like mad i don't. may your trick or treating yield deliciously naughty results!

I missed out on a great party last night - spending it instead passing the crucial part of it down through the gates of lower slumber.....

.... to all our reader, etc. "To all our readers", huh? Demonik, to quote yourself, regarding my earlier comments on male and female; "Words fail me."

I'd suggest 'phwoar' (or variants thereof).

I'd suggest 'phwoar' (or variants thereof). Yes. I would also suggest 'blatant sexism', 'objectification of women', and 'stimulation to rape'.

The man's entitled to his opinion, Mr. Saucecraft, even if he has misquoted me in all the excitement. "To all our readers", huh?" Where did that plural come from?

Go bother some Feminazi site I don't have to agree with you! Really, if you don't see the blatant sexism in that over-obvious picture, I can't help you understand. She is lying like a slab of meat on the table, seemingly unconscious and without will. If you find that acceptable, you have an attitude-problem. The situation goes way over the border, and feminism is not even an issue here. This is about implied assault. Just because I enjoy horror and ghost stories, doesn't mean I have to accept and like that kind of degradory perspective on women.

Well, he's entitled to his opinion and you are to yours, Mr K, but to brand us all as misogynist and rapists because of one picture is stunningly daft. Humourless, too, but then where does it say sense of humour is the same across the board.
Instead of getting steamed an accusatory, try and think about this...
On this site there are a lot of old paperbacks. Back in the day, publishers (like movie makers) used sexism and skin to flog any old tat. If you actually bothered to think about it, you'd realise that Gregory Pendennis is a good old fashioned (if affectionate) piss-take of Dennis Wheatley, who was not above a bit of tittilation. Neither were his publishers. Similarly, the image as a whole was a satire on those old magazine and book covers. Anyone who has been on this site for a while would realise that.
You don't have to be a misogynist and rapist to appreciate that, surely? Although perhaps you do need to have a sense of humour fail.
What's really annoyed me about this is that you are slandering the man who created the parody - and a nicer, less predjudiced bloke in any way, shape or form than Dem you'd have to go a long way to find.
You can think what you like about the rest of us, but the fact is you missed the point, made a stupid accusation, and should apologise to him.

Thanks for the kind words pulphack, but apology? I don't want any damn apology from anyone. It's just a dubious joke got lost in travel is all. Note the date on the original post. Not a soul responded at the time. I guess the regulars rightly shrugged, "oh, there's that useless tosser playing about with ph*t*sh*p again. Very amusing. Yawn." - which is all it is. I seem to remember we had a similar situation with 'Richard Stains' ....

Pulphack has expressed it far better than I could.
As for the picture, it's quite clearly staged, if it were real & non-consensual it would be a different matter (even real, it could still be consensual as some people go in for that sort of thing)
No, you don't have to agree with me, but it is as Pulp hack suggests, the accusatory tone that has riled me, particularly as it's towards Dem as well - This site wouldn't be here without him.
As for an attitude problem, no I haven't got one if I don't have a problem with the picture, maybe it would be the case if I condoned the situation for real. But that's the difference, I certainly wouldn't condone anyone carrying out the acts in the Horror books/films I read/watch, but it's fiction.
"Stimulation to Rape" - I certainly wouldn't call it that, if someone had that in mind, they'd do it anyway & the picture would not turn anyone who did not have that intent. I put it in the same bracket as those who would accuse horror films/books of breeding killers (does any other genre have to defend itself so much?), so this has also contributed to my response.
Dem - Apologies for derailing the thread
Pulphack - Thanks for a more eloquent explanation than I've managed.
Knygathin - Though I don't apologise for my views & I stand by my points, I'll apologise to you. However it may seem, it's not personal & I'd likely quite happily converse with you on another thread.
