It's taken far too long to get round to this, but here it is, my mother's 'other' Horror anthology. DEMON LOVERS, Tales of unearthly passions and fiendish seductions. Tandem, 1970. The irritating psychedelic cover is by Michael Stannard. It's all about having sex with monsters and demons, whether unwillingly or - what she seemed more interested in: willingly. The dedication on the frontispiece just says "To T." I happen to know that the man she dated before meeting my father had a name that began with T. Make of that what you will. Contents: Introduction "Akin To Love", Christianna Brand "Toussel's Pale Bride", W.B. Seabrook Formula For Calling Up The Dead* "Ligeia", Edgar Allan Poe Extract From The Trial Of The Witches Of Huntingdon "The Moon Slave", Barry Pain "Ballad Of A Were-wolf", Graham R. Tomson "For The Blood Is The Life", F. Marion Crawford "How Love Came To Professor Guildea", Robert Hitchens "Madam Lucifer", Richard Garnett "The Phantom-wooer", Thomas Lovell Beddoes "Schalken The Painter", Joseph Sheridan LeFanu*This is taken "From the secret formulas of General Benoit Batraville, leader of the caco revolutionary forces in Haiti; said to have been a sorcerer." And was dug out of The Magic Island by W.B. Seabrook.

many thanks for sharing that, CF. i've long been after your mum's book but hadn't even seen a cover scan before now. much appreciate that you included the table of contents. think i've read the lot bar Madam Lucifer and Ballad Of A Were-wol at one time or another. definitely a bona fide Early Erotic Horror Anthology!
