Cornell Woolrich - Beyond the Night - Avon (T-354), 1959. Six tales of horror to flutter the heart - and chill the mind.My Lips Destroy - No one knew the strange beauty, or how she had got on the terrace. But when she beckoned, Dick had to follow...And there was no turning back. The Lamp of Memory - An ancestral portrait and a brooding young man are bound together by something stronger than the ties of blood. Somebody's Clothes - Somebody's Life - An extraordinary tale of twisted destinies - of a Countess who could not win at the gambling tables, and a girl who could not win ar life. The Number's Up - The Strange black car stopped silently in the night, and the watch began - the death watch! The Moon of Montezuma - In the exotic Mexican night a hand from beyond the grave reaches into the lives of a lovely girl and her infant son. Music from the Dark - From the dark streets of New Orleans came a simple song - and the curse of slow death for the singer.

looks blooming good, this. hope you'll let us know how you get on with it. My Lips Destroy is AKA Vampire's Honeymoon, ain't it? Decent enough, but no match for the incredible Graves For The Living from the same collection, maybe the single finest horror story to appear in a shudder pulp even if it's a slightly uncomfortable fit. i've got to get me a copy of The Night Has A Thousand Eyes ....

Sev, far as i'm aware, it was first published as Vampire's Honeymoon (Horror Stories, August-September 1939) then revised and retitled My Lips Destroy for book publication.

I love Woolrich. I don't think I have any of these stories - one for my list.
