R. Chetwynd-Hayes has a sub-board to himself in the Favourite Authors section, so you'll find the contents to most of these there. But here's a mini-gallery in progress. As far as i remember, ionicus was responsible for all the RCH Kimber covers paintings bar Kamtellar which was the work of Roger Garland. R. I can understand people not liking the Ionicus covers but some of those are distinctly creepy, especially Tales from the Shadows & Quiver of Ghosts. Haunted House & Mists of Time aren't bad either. I remember when I was searching all these books out 10 years ago then every time I was sent a new one I would wonder what the Ionicus cover would be like.
Tales from the Dark Lands was particularly disappointing, and he should have rubbed out the child on 'Tales from the Beyond'. One gets the impression Ionicus wasn't very good with anything other than houses and twisty turny trees.

i dunno, john - his Wodehouse covers have no trees on them! but they do have splendid fat butlers and baffled vicars. his figure work is very caricature/cartoon in style, and wholly inappropriate for ghost stories or horror of any kind - which is why the little girl was a mistake, i guess. oh for a scanner, so that i could put a few Wodehouse covers up to contrast and compare!

I've just had a look at my wife's collection of the Everyman Wodehouse reprints (which are very nice) but the covers are done by someone called Andrzej Klimowski. They do look a bit sinister, actually.
