This theatre company sounds like fun! Anyone seen 'em yet? Don’t Go Into The Cellar! Theatre Company - June 2011 Exciting new theatre company “Don’t Go into the Cellar!” is bringing a series of gripping Victorian capers to venues across the United Kingdom during summer and beyond. A number of different macabre packages are available. Combining the gory excesses of Hammer Horror with the Music Hall feel of The Good Old Days, "Ghouls Aloud" brings you chills, chuckles and tunes! Expect to encounter Sweeney Todd, Jack the Ripper, Countess Dracula, Rasputin the Mad Monk and many other creepy coves in this original and enjoyable variety show with added bite! The company’s “Gothicana” shows are based around more traditional story-telling techniques, and feature adaptations of Poe, Bram Stoker,Arthur Conan Doyle and other masters of mayhem. Authentic period costumes and props are used to ensure the utmost fidelity to the texts, and professional actors are guaranteed to bring these literary villains to (undead!) life. Each production of both formats will be unique – no two line-ups are ever the same – and it this fresh and innovative approach that keeps the shows fresh and the audiences guessing! Several full-length plays are also available, each featuringa major Victorian hero or villain! These include “The Supernatural Adventures of Sherlock Holmes”, “Jekyll the Ripper”, “The Macabre Exploits of Spring-Heeled Jack” and “Eerie Meeny Miney Poe”. Company Director Rachel Green has been delighted with the enthusiastic reception the productions have received. She says, “We specialise in bringing the classics of the Victorian horror genre to life, with striking adaptations that contain laughs and chills in equal measure.” The productions provide audience and venue alike with a unique and fun experience guaranteed to entertain. Individual shows can be offered at a fixed rate or a box office split basis. For weekend-long engagements, a one-off fee can be negotiated.
