Read this one this week. I didn't like it much, and much of it I didn't like at all!

I have a soft spot for this one as it's the book that got me into horror anthologies. I wouldn't have bought it, but won a copy of it in a competition (from The Guardian newspaper, IIRC) so I thought I ought to read it.
Generally I thought it was OK & there wasn't a story I actively disliked. Mark Morris' "The Fertilizer Man" was nicely unpleasant, partly because I could visualise it as a Dr Who-type TV production & partly because I could imagine where it'd go after the end of the story...
The real head melter was Michael Marshall Smith's "The Dark Land" which was (and remains) IMHO the best literary description of what it's like to be dreaming. Worth tracking down for that one alone.
