I have stumbled across a magazine/comic in one of my collections and I can't find a reference to it anywhere online. So I thought I'd break my silence and ask if any ones familiar with it.
It's issue one of a monthly called Demon!. Two of the characters from the magazine are Gabriel- Devil hunter and Satana- The Devil's Daughter. It's published by Portman Distribution Ltd in Leicester circa 1978.
Any knowledge of it at all would be of interest.

Portman distributed a whole line of reprint horror mags around that time - this being one. The strips were mainly reprints from Marvel horror magazines , like Morbius the Living Vampire , Vampire Tales , Tales of the Zombie etc. A cheap way to pick up these strips - the printing wasn't bad in the Portman reprints. I had a ton of 'em but whittled them down to a few favourites eventually.

Gabriel- Devil hunter and Satana- The Devil's Daughter. Both characters were published in Marvel´s b/w magazine Haunt of Horror in 1974, which folded after 5 issues. I kind of liked Gabriel, even if he was Marvels answer to the Exorcist craze and not terrible original. Satana was a kind of Vampirella clone with a very convoluted history. As the b/w magazines didn´t carry the comics code there was the occasionally risque moment and flash of nudity. 20 years later Warrren Ellis transformed Gabriel into an alcoholic and Satana into a prostitute. Ah, the grim and gritty Marvel 90s. The original stories are reprinted in Essential Marvel Horror

I must say a lot more information than I would have expected. It's a pity the enterprise wasn't British based. It would have added a little more gravitas to owning the magazine. For the life of me I can't remember where I got it from. Searching derelict houses, as a boy is the most likely... Fitting really.
