Fellow Orange sufferer here, love the way they fuck up direct debits and cut off the 'net connection for non-payment. And the swift and sure-footed way in which they handle a house move is a marvel to behold.
Glad to see you back online Dem! And keep up the work at Heartbreak Hotel, Rog. I'm going to be messing about with freewebs soon(well, I've started but there's not much to see as yet) and it seems like just the thing for what I need.

Ta Rog. That saves me from contacting 'em again at a time when our relationship has taken a turn for the frosty. I'm sticking with 'em, mostly out of laziness although there's also a perverse side of me that wants to be around to witness their next outrageous stunt. My favourite to date was when they said they couldn't transfer me onto broadband as I live too far from a telephone exchange! And then there was the time they banned the "offensive": Anyway, if and when I eventually wanna buy a domain and some webspace, it sure won't be through them! Let us know where Haunted Library shifts to, Rog, and I'll update me links!

I've been playing with that Freewebs site. It uses some Flash, which I don't always like. Here's the original pencil sketch for Ripton Torn. It ended as part of the cover for FC 1. Flash means I can't set that illustration to appear in this post. But I could always create an alternate gallery there, the old way. Very impressed with Freewebs. I think Charles found them when he wanted a site for the Black Book.

Just in case people think I'm really being totally lazy (oh, alright then, think what you like ), here's a link to a page of the new site, where I've tried to tidy a rambling Vault thread that gave Des an anxiety attack into one neat page. I think the emphasis of Dolls House Mark II will have a subtle shift to more new writing. I had to switch from Freewebs to Geocities, cos Freewebs turned out to be too small. Funny really, because Geocities was where it started. Presently debating the cold blooded murder of certain Orange jerk-offs who, after deleting my site and Dem's, are now insisting I stick to my contract another 6 months or pay them £100. By the way there are a lot of non-functioning links on the page linked here, because the site isn't complete yet. herelater: Oops! Nearly forgot to add links back to the original thread here where it started. Done now.

Ah, good old Or*ng*! Thanks to their latest radical improvements to the service, I lost Loughville, Nasty Nel's and the Vault site (which, thankfully, I'd long since transferred to WordPress) but worst of all, Monkey the Magnificent's crusade versus the undead and orbs has come to an untimely end! I don't care about the other rubbish, but I hope everyone at Or*ng*'s offspring have six heads for upsetting my little simian sidekick!
I've got to hand it to them. I thought they'd peaked with their glorious "you live too far from a telephone exchange for broadband" mirth-inducer (that'll teach me to set up home in an obscure little hamlet like the city of London) but this latest, very generous "you may leave us for £100!" offer is genius!
I tried Freewebs too, but their system can't cope with the abundance of (monkey's) files I need to throw at them and i'm all not that keen on Geocities. If anyone can recommend a decent free web host please give us a shout!
