I'm trying to work out the name of this Brian Lumley story. I think it was in fruiting bodies (haven't got a copy to check, myself, read it from the library years ago).
It involves a salesman (I think), getting stranded in an odd town, when the road he came into it by, has simply vanished & no attempt to locate it is successful.
I think there was also another man there, who had the same problem & has been stuck there for 15 years. If I remember rightly, the salesman has been lured to the town, by the other man, to become his replacement, so he can escape. Any ideas?

That title would fit, but I don't know for certain. I'll have to check my Lumley collections, to see if any of them have 'No Way Home'.

Saucey, it is in Fruiting Bodies and other Fungi
Contents
Introduction Fruiting Bodies The Man Who Photographed Beardsley The Man Who Felt Pain The Viaduct Recognition No Way Home The Pit-Yakker The Mirror of Nitocris Necros The Thin People The Cyprus Shell The Deep-Sea Conch Born of the Winds
I think Beardsley was in a Hugh Lamb antho, and isn't Necros in one of Amy Myer's Midnight books?
