I've just read British author Simon Clark's novel Blood Crazy and it was quite excellent. I then went to Simon's website to discover the man has written many other horror novels. www.bbr-online.com/nailed/I'm guessing the majority of Vault inmates already know about Simon's works? If not...well you do now. I'm looking forward to ordering his Vampire series. Blood Crazy was basically a zombie novel with a twist...humans over the age of twenty are slaughtering younger people worldwide. I was not entirely happy with the explanation for this, but the well written story, as described in first person by survivor Nick Aten made up for that flaw in the tale. Some truly scary moments, especially as I read the book on a nightshift. I had not come across Simon's books before...so if any of you Vaulter's know of any other modern authors who write in the same vein as Simon...IE: Pulp style spec fic/horror...let me know. Cheers: Jaq.

I haven't read any of his novels, Jaq, but I've read quite a few of his short stories in various small press publications from the 90s (possibly 80s?). He is, indeed, an excellent writer. ;D

the novels are great fun: when i gave up on horror in the 'nineties, i still read him - you could get all his novels from the library at the time. he has some threads in the NEL section, for Vampyrric and, i think, nightreader reviewed Darker (might be on Vault MK. I), but there should be more.

Thanks Nik I'll check those vault links out.
I think Simon's stuff fits in nicely.
Leisure Books/Dorchester Publishing has quite a number of similar horror books by a variety of other authors.
Cheers: Jaq.
