Hi everyone, I'm a regular poster on the Piccadilly cowboy website ( own all the books) . Wandered into wider pulp territory so here I am.
So on the Nick Hornby ethos - its not what your like , its what you like that counts.
Pulp fiction, prog rock (esp ELP, Yes) , heavy metal ( the big 70's bands and newer stuff too - disturbed, mastodon etc), Uriah Heep. Lots of Americana and country.
Season ticket at Glasgow Rangers ( I collect Rangers books too), Charlton Athletic are my English team. WATP!
Like pulp, James Ellroy,Mickey Spillane, Iain M Banks, Shaun Hutson.
I like film and favorites are - Zulu, The Wild Bunch, The Good , the Bad and the Ugly, Rio Bravo, Iron Man, Manhattan, Kiss Me Deadly, Hammer Draculas & Frankensteins, Apocalypse now.
I currently live in Edinburgh in a city centre flat with my books and record collection. Far too easy access to some lovely pubs and takeaways.
Separated with 2 grown up kids and a grandson.
Currently not working - made redundant by Standard Life in August.
Proud to have one of worlds most boring facebook sites - pictures of rangers playing motherwell in the rain on a wednesday night anyone? ;D
Look forward to joining in the fun.

Hiya charltonman - welcome to wider pulp territory! I reckon we're that if nothing else.
I was a regular on the PC site myself at one time - before I sort of lost the plot as it were - and still have good memories of the place and the people.
If you like old pulp, wet wednesdays, a bit of Hammer horror and '70s rock (don't get Caroline started on Jethro Tull and I believe Dem, our resident janitor of lunacy, is a bugger for a bit of Van der Graaf Generator) then you should feel a least halfway at home here, feller.

don't get Caroline started on Jethro Tull Eh? Wot? Er ... somebody's just woke me up by mentioning my name and Jethro Tull in the same sentence. Oooo, hi, a newbie for me to play with. You a Tull fan, young 'un?

young' un ................love that. Certainly am - went to see them at the Queens Halls in Edinburgh last year. Actually missing the better part of Rangers v Fiorentina to do so - in the end it was OK , I think the band wanted to watch the extra time and penalties too. They were joined on stage (and in the bar) by Fish ex Marillion and local. He did Locomotive Breath rather well for a youngster ha ha.

They all do Locomotive Breath rather well for oldsters too! I saw them twice last year - once with a guest appearance by their original drummer, Clive Bunker. Absolutely brilliant! I've already got my ticket to see them again in March next year - but just realised that it means I'll miss the first day of World Horror Con. Never mind - Tull is more important. I'll get a couple of days of WHC anyway. Oh, and welcome, by the way. ;D
