I have become quite fond of those old Hammer movies lately and discovered this magazine, devoted to all things Hammer. Last year I read a recommendation here on the vault for Wayne Kinsey´s Hammer Films: The Elstree Studio Years, which was a great book and made me search out all those Hammer movies I never saw. The new LSoH is out, and it is very well made, like the earlier issues. It covers the so-called "Cornwall Classics" Plague of Zombies and The Reptile. It has in-depth articles about the making of both films, interviews with director John Gilling and actors Michael Gough, Jacqueline Pearce and the late Michael Ripper. It is a great read if you are interested in all things Hammer, and I really like the original cover art by artist Bruce Timm. Avaiable through www.littleshoppeofhorrors.com in the US, where it is published. (and whose postage rates have climbed through the roof.) Or through Hemlock in the UK, where I ordered mine. A great service, btw, truly recommended. www.hemlockbooks.co.uk

Oh yes - very nice! I picked up a copy of this and the previous issue (Dracula AD 1972 special - how could I not?) at the Manchester Festival of Fantastic Films the other weekend.

loving that cover.
bot 'the reptile' and 'plague of zombies' are remembered fondly by me as moulding my young self towards horror.

Amazing how much info they manage to gather together for these mags, the font is tiny but every page is crammed with stuff.
I would also recommend Hemlock, excellent service and I see they are now stocking Rue Morgue and Penny Blood.
