To complete the Derleth horror anthologies: Posted by
David A. Riley August 2nd 2007. Many thanks!.
August Derleth - DARK THINGSIt looks as if this is one Arkham House anthology that wasn't, so far as I can discover, reprinted in the UK, more's the pity.

REQUIEM FOR EARTH by Donald Wandrei
One or two British writers included in this book who were at the start of their careers, such as Brian Lumley and Charles Partington. I haven't seen much from Charles for many years, though, and I don't know if he is still writing. This story piqued my curiosity at the time as the protagonist travels by train from "Manchester, through Accrington and Nelson, and under the towering mass of Round Hill..." as Accrington was my home town.

dem - This has been a godsend to several anthologists down the years. I've never even seen a copy but have read maybe a third of the stories thanks to Peter Haining, Karl Wagner, Richard Davis, possibly others.
Funny Farm would probably make my ten favourite Bloch's list and Ramsey Campbell's
Napier Court is a masterpiece.
I'd really love it if a horror orientated publisher set out to resurrect some of the antho's we either never got to see over here or are so long out of print that we'll never get our hands on them without a lottery grant.

David A. Riley - Napier Court is one of Ramsey's best stories. Hard to believe it was written so long ago.
I can't remember anything at all of Funny Farm. On your comments alone I'll have to reread it. I used to love Bloch's stuff around that time, but I haven't read anything of his for more years than I care to remember. It should prove refreshing. I hope!
