Wow, I'd love to get my hands on a copy of that! I never knew Wyndham had done a collection of short stories. I remember being blown away when I read Day of the Triffids (far scarier than any film version of the book). Is this a rare one, Johnny?

Caroline, it was first issued as a hardback by Dennis Dobson in 1954 and copies of it can be rather expensive. This was first published by Four Square in 1962, last reprinted in 1965 and this is the first time it was issued under the New English Library banner in 1973. On abebooks.com copies seem to be reasonably priced - but with postage on top... It's a cracking collection, albiet a bit dated, but hell - what isn't?

Sound collection - some weak stories but that great Wyndham atmosphere. used to love his stuff. I don't think its too rare

Thanks, guys. Found one for less than a fiver including P & P! ;D The internet is wonderful when you're looking for something specific like that (though I still prefer a real bookshop for the sheer fun of rummaging through books and finding something interesting).

Great covers. I had the earlier Jizzle (ie earlier posted) but I was only familiar with two of the others. Don't you just love the vault...problem of course is that now I get the collectors bug
